Denver Climate Weather

The Metro Denver area is located on the high plains, near the base of the Rocky Mountains. With abundant sunshine, moderate temperatures and low levels of humidity the Denver area is an ideal climate for year-round activities.

Denver boasts 300 days of sunshine a year - more than either San Diego or Miami Beach.

While the nearby mountains and ski resorts receive significant annual snowfall, the metro area tends to get short-lived storms. It’s not unusual for a morning’s snowfall to melt by the afternoon.

Metro Denver’s climate is best described as “semi-arid,” averaging just under 16 inches of precipitation annually.
